No no era una mia proposta per “immaginare come sarebbe”. Si, ma è un po’ tautologico

Io invece l'ho apprezzato proprio perché mi ha indotto ad andare su Wikipedia a capire perché i Sassoni (che dovrebbero stare in Germania, Sassonia...) erano invece in Inghilterra e i Normanni che dovrebbero stare in Scandinavia o in Normandia invece pure. La pulce nell'orecchio in realtà me l'aveva già messa "Fu sera e fu mattina" di Ken Follett, e anche Galimberti che in una delle sue lezioni spiegava che l'inglese non è una vera lingua bensì un coacervo di tedesco che veniva parlato dai contadini, di francese che veniva parlato dai nobili e di latino che era parlato dal clero. Solo con questo romanzo però mi sono deciso a darmi almeno un'infarinatura superficiale della storia.

Dopo il tuo precedente post su Ivanhoe che mi ha incuriosito l'ho comprato. Lo sto leggendo proprio in questi giorni. Sono arrivato poco oltre il torneo per ora e devo dire che il libro è interessante e coinvolgente. Per quanto mi riguarda il problema più grande che ho riscontrato sono le prime lunghe pagine che contengono dettagli storici che non sono veramente necessari al fine del libro. Oltre al fatto che contengono parecchie imprecisioni e analisi fuorvianti superate da tempo (ovviamente visto quanto è vecchio il libro). Consiglio di leggerle solo se uno è totalmente digiuno di storia del periodo. Comunque fin dove sono arrivato tutto sommato è un ottimo libro e mi piace l'atmosfera che crea. Mi sento di consigliarlo anche io.

Per uno come me, ancora invariabilmente amante del raw fantasy, per una volta è stato un piacere sapere di poter scorrere le pagine, sicuro che nessuna sanguinosa tortura o brutale stupro avrebbe potuto turbarmi l’animo, anche quando pareva imminente che succedesse, semplicemente perché era inconcepibile secondo il gusto dell’Ottocento, quando venne pubblicato. L’unica delusione è stato il finale che nel film si concretizzava nell’epico duello divino in due tempi tra il protagonista Sir Ivanhoe e il templare Brian de Bois-Guilbert, prima con la lancia a cavallo e poi appiedati con ascia e mazzafrusto rispettivamente; nel romanzo tutto si riduce invece a un unico incrocio di lance, quindi la morte per colpo apoplettico dell’antagonista. Anche la dimessa dipartita della bella ebrea Rebecca mi ha lasciato un po’ di amaro in bocca ma, nuovamente, sarebbe stato ingenuo aspettarsi alcunché di più moderno, soprattutto considerato l’antisemitismo che allora dilagava in Europa. Il linguaggio dei personaggi mette bene in risalto la millantata audacia, l’orgoglio e le proprie virtù guerresche, vero o presunte che fossero, comune a ogni cavaliere o nobile, tuttavia mai stucchevole. La prosa è invece molto scorrevole e ogni capitolo denso di azione o innocente passione amorosa. Tutt’altro da trascurare poi la ricostruzione storica del periodo che io ignoravo totalmente: la dominazione normanna a danno dei fieri Sassoni, l’allora già incipiente fusione tra i due popoli che diede poi anche origine alla lingua inglese, oggi prevalente in tutta Europa e non solo. Un romanzo d’avventura a tutto tondo, seppure assolutamente non comparabile alle atmosfere o ai ritmi di quelli contemporanei, che sono molto lieto di aver finalmente letto. Voto: 4/5

Avendo letto di recente le regole della 5e 2014 se non ricordo male è prioprio così e ho anche capito quale è stato il malinteso tra me e Lord Danarc in realtà, perché riferendomi a morte istantanea io mi riferivo anche al fatto che in chainmail la maggior parte dei personaggi muore in un colpo e quindi di conseguenza ho pensato "non riesco a immaginare come sarebbe un dnd 5e se i PC venissero one-shottati da qualunque cosa costantemente".

Sono veramente curioso di interpretare questo PG, proprio a ruolo ed anche la combinazione ira forma selvatica e interessante. Sisi lo so benissimo, più o meno l' idea e avere un personaggio in comunione con la sua natura druidica che poi sbrocca si trasforma e va a dare mazzate in mischia, che possa essere anche un buon tank. Io avevo pensato ad un nano delle colline, sia per avere ancora un plus in pvt e poi anche perché ce un elfo in compagnia, di un player con cui ce sempre un po' di dibattito e vorrei portare un po' questa cosa in gioco... Magari potrebbe non essere ottimale ma non punto al PP. Ad avere un PG ottimizzato ma alla fine conta il divertimento. Sisi per forza😅

Per curiosità, come mai ha deciso per questo particolare multiclasse? Sei interessato a provare questa combinazione perchè pensi che possa essere interessante da interpretare, o pensi ci sia qualche particolare sinergia tra le due classi (tipo entrare in ira in forma animale) che possa rendere il pg particolarmente potente (almeno in un certo ambito)? Detto questo, ricorda sempre un dettaglio importante: un barbaro in ira non può lanciare incantesimi nè mantenere la concentrazione su incantesimi lanciati prima di entrare in ira. Razze: in linea di massima un barbaro dà il meglio con razze che enfatizzano la sua potenza e resitenza (bonus a For e/o Cos), anche se in alternativa potrebbe fare comodo una razza che dà bonus a Des e Cos per beneficiare al meglio della "Difesa senza Armatura". Il druido invece necessita di razze che diano bonus alla Sag. Forme selvatiche: la prima cosa da ricordare, è che quando ti trasformi mantieni solo le caratteristiche mentali (Int, Sag, Car), l'allineamento e la personalità della tua forma umana; il resto diventa quello della forma che scegli, rendendo le caratteristiche fisiche originali (For, Des, Cos) quasi inutili, cosa che contrasta quasi totalmente con lo "stile" del barbaro.Ti consiglio inoltre di tenerti una copia delle schede di tutte le forma animali in cui ti trasformi, in modo da non stare a cercare sempre nel manuale dei mostri.

Buonasera ragazzi, e da un po' che non scrivo ma avrei bisogno di un aiuto. Inizierò una campagna di LV 5 Avevo pensato di giocare un druido della luna/barbaro totem. Visto che e la prima volta che mi approccio a questa multi classe voleva sapere se avete qualche consiglio da darmi. Io pensavo ad una combinazione barbaro 3/druido 2 per iniziare ed ad una scala di stata con sag/cos/for/des/int/car. E poi sinceramente non saprei come continuare la build Vi ringrazio in anticipo per l'aiuto grazie

Domanda sul lancio dell'incantesimo. 1 - Se ci si trova in una zona soggetta a un incantesimo "Silenzio" la spell può essere lanciata con successo? 2 - Se si usa l'oggetto si può correre il rischio di essere bloccati da un Counterspell, anche se è l'oggetto a lanciare la magia?

A me sembra/va che le abilità speciali dei druidi fossero state disegnate pensando solo ai druidi storici dell'Europa centrale o settentrionale. Ma se gioco un druido del deserto o della montagna, quando mai incontro un satiro cui essere immune o le piante che non m'intralcino più il cammino?

Situazionale in base alla campagna (proprio come il Ranger), ma interessante, alla fine sono tutti plus e quasi nulla a livello di malus ^^

È così nella nuova edizione 2024? Nella 2014 se non ricordo male la morte istantanea avveniva se andavi sotto di un numero pari o superiore ai tuoi Punti Ferita massimi. In AD&D se non sbaglio c'era il tiro su shock corporeo.

Forse ne hai bisogno di altri giacchè hai evidentemente errato.

In base a cosa lo dici? 1) comprensibilmente non sai che nella mia ambientazione i druidi sono solo nella giungla quindi l'utilità è minima. Ma allora perché fare supposizioni? 2) nei FR non ci sono deserti, montagne, foreste, mari, ecc. ecc.?

Perfetto, il range che pensavo era quello e il disclaimer della ricarica automatica faceva lievitare dal prezzo di 8/10 che avevo ipotizzato al ribasso. Molte grazie per l'aiuto Lord Danarc.

Non li conosco, ma a naso direi che probabilmente è il carattere, sommato con l'età. Non credo ci si possa fare molto e non penso che sia qualcosa per cui tu come DM debba sentirti responsabile. Che qualcuno sembrasse più coinvolto in combattimento non mi sorprende: è una delle parti dove è più facile che le azioni, e le decisioni prese, abbiano conseguenze concrete che si vedono subito. Di solito è questo che coinvolge le persone, nei giochi. Tendiamo erroneamente a pensare che nel GdR siano più le voci dei personaggi, il tono delle descrizioni o robe così...
