In realtà le tre "attività" non sono necessariamente tre azioni. Anzi trovo molto interessante che lanciare incantesimi con componenti diversi ti richieda più di queste attività. Sparito, in compenso ci troviamo la nipote da parte endogamica paterna, saltata fuori dal cilindro. In compenso troviamo Nimbral eletta di Selune nell'Unther, anche lei con un secolo e passa di vita. D'Accordo chiedere coerenza alla WOtC è come chiederla agli sceneggiatori dell'ultima Trilogia di Star Wars, ma almeno se hanno delle simpatie teleguidate in termini di personaggi, fatelo con un pò più di scaltrezza. Non demolite il vecchio fandom. Meno male che c'è almeno l'immarcescibile Manshoon... -
Ogni volta che esce un'edizione nuova, la WotC ha un compito sostanzialmente impossibile. Deve cambiare tutto e niente allo stesso tempo. Il pubblico vuole vedere allo stesso tempo qualcosa di cambiato, ma se si cambia troppo arrivano le folle con i forconi (vedi D&D 4E). Idem con questa D&D 2024 - con queste aspettative impossibili - che va detto, la WotC stessa ha fomentato (deve essere retrocompatibile ma risolvere i problemi della 2014) non c'e' verso che ne venisse fuori un prodotto che contentasse tutti. Tuttavia, sono sorpreso dalla negativita' che vedo a volte. Io personalmente non convidido questa avversione al nuovo o alla 2024 nello specifico. Ben vengano le revisioni. Al massimo non le adotto. Giusto per essere chiari al momento non ho intenzione di giocare alla 5e 2024, ne' e' probabile giochi almeno nell'immediato futuro... L'unico gioco di D&D che ho attualmente in corso e' della 2014 e non avrebbe senso cambiare a meta' campagna, e gli altri giochi che sto facendo non sono D&D (e al momento la 5e mi e' in generale venuta a noia). Tuttavia se un domani mi venisse in mente di rivisitare la 5e, non ho alcun astio nei confronti della revisione e probabilmente andro' con la 2024. Se poi mi piace bene, se non mi piace, amen, gioco con la 2014. -

Mi è stato detto "Perchè Non Usi Pathfinder + Starfinder" per le Idee che hai che sembrano prese da Final-Fantasy. . .??" A prescindere che sarebbe MOLTO più adatto "Fabula Ultima" c'è il Problema di fondo che tanti pensano che gli FF siano SOLO "JRPG Fantasy" (ed inoltre Starfinder non è VERA FANTASCIENZA ma solamente un "Pathfinder Reskinnato"; un sistema che NON Mi piace, come d'altro canto quelli di Cyberpunk.Talsorian o Shadowrun-FASA !!) e per Me i Final-Fantasy NON devono essere SOLO "High Magic Middle Age Fantasy", per Me sono imprescindibili gli Elementi Steampunk di FF12 e FF14, quelli Dieselpunk di FF7, FF10 e FF13 ed altro simile. . .!! E alla fine ho dovuto abbandonare il mio progetto "Spelljammer 3.5", per la totale mancanza di interesse da parte di tutti, visto che D&D 3.5 ormai è così morto che non interessa più nemmeno sciacalli e necromanti! 😭 Ma, come si dice, "morto un Papa, se ne fà un'altro"... e quindi ecco a voi, risorto come l'araba fenice dalle ceneri del suo predecessore, "Spelljammer 5.14" per D&D 5.14! 😍 Il sistema è abbastanza "agnostico" da poter essere usato anche con D&D 5.24, ma io intendo focalizzarmi sulla "vecchia" versione... quindi vi chiedo cortesemente di evitare anche solo di nominare quella "nuova" in questa discussione. Cominciamo con il file per la creazione dei sistemi solari: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pq0QBXWgoUzo9OF4U4JOSGPzdGWvEAai/view So che già c'era, nella vecchia discussione, ma ho aggiunto un paio di cose che prima mi ero dimenticato... e, visto che intendo basare il resto del regolamento quasi completamente sul manuale ufficiale "Astral Adventurer's Guide", con pochissime modifiche, già sorge spontanea una domanda su una possibile modifica: ignorare il regolamento di AD&D che indicava la possibilità di soli multipli (o addirittura sfere di cristallo annidate) e passare completamente all'idea della 5.14 che c'è sempre un'unico sole per ogni "Wildspace", o mantenere la tradizione? Per quanto riguarda il regolamento, come ho detto intendo basarmi quasi completamente sul manuale ufficiale "Astral Adventurer's Guide"; le modifiche che mi interessano sono: anche se fanno tutti parte del Piano Materiale, ogni "Wildspace" (le vecchie "Sfere di cristallo" di AD&D) viene considerato anche un piano materiale a se stante... questo influenza molti incantesimi di trasporto dimensionale (in realtà sono solo 4 quelli che ci interessano: "Dream of the Blue Veil" e "Plane Shift" di 7°, "Astral Projection" e "Gate" di 9°), rendendo più conveniente l'uso delle navi spaziali per spostarsi da un pianeta all'altro. A proposito, idee per la traduzione di "Wildspace"? Sono tentato per il prosaico "sistema stellare"... suggerimenti? l'atmosfera dei pianeti è troppo spessa! Secondo il manuale è pari al diametro del pianeta (nel caso della Terra sarebbero circa 12.750 km, quando in realtà è solo 100 km, con l'80% di essa nei primi 13 km)... assurdo! Nel file per la creazione dei pianeti ho messo che solo gli oggetti con più di 1.000 miglia (1.500 km) di diametro hanno un'atmosfera, ed essa ha uno spessore pari a 1/1.000 del diametro del corpo celeste, e così voglio restare! Le navi spaziali devono crearsi da sole la propria bolla d'aria, e lo stesso fanno altre creature dello spazio (a meno che non abbiano nemmeno bisogno di respirare. usare il piano astrale al posto del Flogisto risolve e semplifica molte cose, ma fà sorgere un "problema": le creature nel piano astrale non invecchiano, non sentono fame o sete o sonno (ma devono dormire -o almeno riposare in qualche modo- se vogliono beneficiare degli effetti dei riposi lunghi o brevi), e soprattutto non corrono il rischio di soffocare! Personalmente sarei dell'idea che la bolla d'aria delle navi annulli questi effetti, ma che sia necessario tenerla attiva per evitare che la gente venga "scagliata via" dalle manovre delle navi. Legata all'idea del punto precedente, ho l'impressione che la veloctà delle navi sia un pò bassina... io sarei per raddoppiarla! Anche perchè altrimenti un pg molto intelligente potrebbe superarle con le proprie forze (nel piano astrale ogni creatura ha una velocità di volo pari a 3 piedi -0,9 m- per punto d'Intelligenza... un mago di 1° livello con Int 15 avrebbe una velocità di 45 piedi, superiore a quella di 12 delle 16 navi presenti sul manuale!), e questo sarebbe palesemente assurdo! non mi piace l'idea che ad uno basti pensare "voglio andare nel posto X" o "voglio andare dov'è il tizio Y" per sapere automaticamente la direzione! E' troppo semplice... voglio che i pg facciano qualche tiro di navigazione per orientarsi nello spazio, col rischio di perdersi. bisogna "convertire" le vecchie navi di AD&D alla nuova versione... una cosa su tutte, non sò se mantenere la vecchia "manovrabilità" e trasformarla in un modificare alle prove di navigazione, o tralasciarla del tutto. Queste sono le cose che mi vengono in mente per il momento, poi vi farò sapere se ho altre idee. -
Diciamo che la 2024 doveva essere un'edizione celebrativa e ce l'hanno raccontata, prima e dopo, come qualcosa di completamente nuovo MA retrocompatibile. Non è né l'uno né l'altro. Non è nuova perche, come avete detto tutti, al 90% e MDG14+Tasha, non è retrocompatibile perché le nuove sottoclassi sono totalmente sbilanciate, rispetto alle precedenti 2014. Oltretutto immagini fatte con IA...se ripenso alle 3.5 almeno i disegni erano originali, fatti da artisti. Il tutto per la modica cifra di 50 euro. Pure tradotta male se prendi la versione italiana. Diciamo che dal punto di vista editoriale, i consumatori dovrebbero evitare di incoraggiare questi prodotti. Usando il paragone dell'amatriciana, la 2014 sta a quella - orrore - fatta con la pancetta come la 2024 sta a quella - doppio orrore - fatta con la pancetta e un soffitto di cipolla. -

Insomma, pochissimi non tanto! Gran parte della linea dei Forgotten Realms (i manuali con la copertina bianco sporco) usci' sotto la 3.0, la serie dedicata alle varie classi (mi riferisco ai libriccini a copertina morbida tipo il Tomo e il Sangue etc, i "Complete" erano 3.5) era 3.0, il manuale degli psionici (poi usci' la versione 3.5), dei e semidei, il manuale dei piani, il book of vile darkness eccetera. Quando usci' la 3.5 in realta' c'era gia' tanto materiale uscito fuori - lo so perche' io quei manuali ce li avevo e con il mio gruppo ci fu una discussione sul fatto se ci convenisse cambiare o meno. La 5E ha avuto un ritmo di pubblicazioni molto piu' lento, ma al tempo della 3.0 l'idea era che dovevi sfornare un manuale ogni 2-3 mesi praticamente, sicche' di fattola quantita' di materiale non e' stata cosi' diversa. Infatti mi ricordo che alcuni al tempo gridarono all'oltraggio eccetera Lo and behold, la 3.5 e' diventata una delle edizioni piu' giocate dal pubblico italiano. Fin troppo, direi: @MattoMatteo tu te lo ricordi (perche' c'eri su questo forum, come me :) ) nel 2014/2015 quando usci' la 5E e c'erano un sacco di utenti furenti perche' loro avevano tutti i manuali della 3.5 e come si permetteva la WotC di rilasciare la 5E, che non era bella come la 3.5 blah blah blah.Poi piano piano la 5E si e' fatta strada tra il pubblico italiano, dopo qualche anno. Boh, per quanto mi riguarda, avendo letto il PHB, a me sembra una versione rivista che non cambia poi cosi' tanto. Direi che le differenze sono comparabili aquelle tra D&D 3.0 e 3.5. Assolutamente capisco il discorso che se uno e' felice con la 2014 puo' non aver senso cambiare, ma ti ripeto che e' il solito discorso che si puo' fare al cambio di ogni edizione o all'uscita della versione revised. Per quanto mi riguarda, dopo 10 ANNI di D&D 2014 una versione revised ci sta, non mi sento di gridare al "cash grab". Anzi,personalmente preferisco che esca una versione revised piuttosto che continuare ad avere i manuali 2014 + le varie millemila regole "varianti"/"opzionali ma che opzionali poi non sono"/le duemila versioni del ranger. Sull'aspetto "woke"/"non woke", mi pare di essere l'unica persona sulla terra a cui non frega una mazza. Non mi fa ne' caldo ne' freddo.

La differenza è che, durante i tre anni durante le quasi esistette (2000-2003), la 3 fece uscire pochissimi manuali (i 3 base, e credo solo un'altra mezza dozzina di accessori)... il passaggio alla 3.5 fù quindi molto meno "doloroso" per gli utenti. Inoltre la 3.5 durò una dozzina d'anni (2003-2015), con credo 85 manuali (contando solo quelli ufficiali!) fino all'uscita della 5 ("Quale 4° edizione di D&D? Non esiste nessuna 4° edizione! Si è passati direttamente dalla 3.5 alla 5!" 🤣). Imho (e io e @Steven Art 74 non siamo i soli pensarla così... in molti forum americani mi è sembrato di vedere la stessa opinione), la 5.24 è abbastanza diversa dalla 5.14 da rendere quasi inutili la maggior parte dei vecchi manuali, ma non abbastanza diversa da essere definita una nuova versione che spinga veramente la gente ad abbandonare quella precedente... in pratica, solo un bieco trucco della Hasbro per cercare di mungere i giocatori come gonzi mucche! Per quanto mi riguarda, finchè non uscirà una 6° edizione degna di questo nome, continuerò a giocare con la 5.14 ... e se la Hasbro continua con questo andazzo, è probabile che sarà l'ultima edizione con cui giocherò, a meno di non tirare fuori dalla naftalina la 3.5 o AD&D o passare ad altri sistemi! Attento a quello che dici! Nella scelta tra pancetta o guanciale, da usare per l'Amatriciana o la Carbonara, non ci sono due scuole di pensiero, ma due eserciti agguerriti pronti a darsi battaglia all'ultimo sangue! Una sola parola sbagliata rischia di farti arrivare a casa i ninja di una delle due fazioni! 🤣

E in che modo sarebbe un'ingiustizia? La WotC e' una corporation che fa parte della Hasbro, la cui esistenza dipende dal vendere un prodotto. E' tutto li. Tu, o i tuoi genitori, come ve lo guadagnate da vivere? Fate qualcosa e vi fate pagare o vendete un prodotto. Non siete li' per beneficienza. Stessa cosa per la WotC, non e' che ti vengono a puntare la pistola contro e ti forzano a comprare D&D 2024. E' ovvio che come azienda il loro interesse e', in primis, il vendere il loro prodotto, usando qualunque tattica a loro disposizione, alcune delle quali lasciano certamente l'amaro in bocca al consumatore (vedi il rendere i vecchi manuali meno fruibili su D&D Beyond cosi' da invogliarti a comprare quelli nuovi). Si puo' dibattere sul fatto che queste logiche siano o meno consumer friendly, ma questo e' il capitalismo. Tutto funziona cosi' - dalle app che ti obbligano a fare la subscription per poterle usare, a Microsoft che ti obbliga ad aggiornare a Windows 11 perche' smettono di fare gli aggiornamenti di sicurezza eccetera. Diciamo che il ragionamento che fai ("a me questa dinamica non mi va bene, e non la voglio supportare con i miei soldi") ha senso, quello che non capisco e' il motivo per cui tutta questa indignazione viene fuori ora con D&D 2024 che non mi sembra nemmeno un caso particolarmente eclatante, ecco. Alla fine ci puo' anche stare che dopo 10 anni vogliano fare una versione revised del regolamento. Ma cosa pensi, che D&D 5E nel 2014 l'abbiano fatto uscire perche' ci tenevano al brand di D&D e volevano dare ai fan del gioco un'ottima edizione? L'edizione nuova l'hanno fatta perche' quella vecchia non vendeva piu' come volevano, e' tutto li. E in futuro troveranno altri modi per scucirti piu' soldi di quanti riescono a scucirtene ora. Se non ti piace questa logica, ha perfettamente senso di continuare a giocare con l'edizione che preferisci: i manuali non te li toglie nessuno. Ma adesso stracciarsi le vesti perche' la WotC fa quello che continua a fare da 50 anni mi sembra un po' esagerato. Tra l'altro ci sono un sacco di giochi diversi da D&D che non applicano le stesse logiche (o comunque le applicano in minor misura, almeno per adesso): la Paizo rilascia tutto il materiale sotto una licenza permissiva, per cui PF2e, PF1e, Starfinder etc sono tutti disponibili online eccetto le avventure (perche' poi si ritorna li: alla fine i soldi da qualche parte li dovranno fare). Se ti piace D&D 4e, Draw Steel e' uscito da poco e anche li, tutto il materiale del gioco e' liberamente disponibile online grazie alla loro licenza permissiva. Tanti giochi sono rilasciati come Pay What You Want o anche free. Se e' una cosa che ti disgusta cosi' tanto, non dovresti giocare nemmeno a D&D 2014, ecco.

Chiamarla ingiustizia mi sembra un po’ eccessivo: è un gioco edito da un’azienda con scopo di lucro, il loro obbiettivo numero 1 è farci dei soldi, non vedo come potrebbero agire diversamente. Qualsiasi altro prodotto in commercio (dagli smartphone ai frigoriferi) è una versione migliorata ed aggiornata della generazione precedente, non è che sia ogni volta l’invenzione della ruota. Basta non correre a comprare ogni edizione di D&D che viene messa in commercio… D&D è questo, non si allontanerà mai troppo da ciò che è/era perché altrimenti non sarebbe più D&D. Se si vuole diversità, secondo me, è scontato che bisogna rivolgersi altrove. Loro potranno inventare nuove ambientazioni, nuove classi, nuove razze… ma il core del gioco, il “d20 system”, resterà così com’è per sempre, al massimo verrà patchato per bilanciarlo o per dare ai PG un flavour più o meno supereroistico. -

Si ma... e ora ve ne accorgete...? E AD&D 2e che cos'era? Al 90% lo stesso regolamento di AD&D 1e, che pero' te lo hanno fatto pagare non una ma due volte! (perche' c'era la AD&D 2e e la AD&D 2e revised qualche anno dopo). D&D 3.5 cos'era? 90% stesso regolamento della 3.0, che ti hanno fatto pagare due volte (pochi anni dopo l'uscita della 3.0 per giunta). pathfinder? all'uscita era 90% il regolamento della 3.5, con qualche modifica. Eppure nessuno grido' allo scandalo. D&D 4e essentials che cos'era? 90% lo stesso regolamento della 4e, ma distillato in una sorta di "best of". Tutti i vari spinoff della 5e che sono nati come funghi dopo il faux pas della OGL? I vari tales of the valiant, Nimble 5e, DC20, 5 torches deep, etc. Tutti giochi estremamente sovrapponibili che pero' ti fanno pagare. L'intera scena dell'OSR (per quanto ci sia affezionato e per quanto ne sia parte) su questa cosa ci campa da 15 anni. Ogni gioco OSR uscito da 10 anni a questa parte e' l'ennesimo clone o di B/X D&D, o di Mork Borg, o di Cairn/Knave/Into the odd (ma questi ultimi si contano fino ad un certo punto dato che molti sono free o costano relativamente poco). Cioe' capisco benissimo il dire "ho gia' i manuali, continuo a giocare a quelli, non e' come un videogame che mi devo scaricare l'ultimo DLC" (io per primo in passato non ho sentito l'esigenza di aggiornarmi all'ultima edizione di D&D) pero' mi fa un po' caso vedere tutti che si stracciano le vesti quando questo e' un meccanismo che e' stato presente piu' o meno da sempre nella storia di D&D. Sono 50 anni che la TSR o la WotC vi rivendono la stessa minestra riscaldata spacciandola per la nuova fighissima edizione del gioco di ruolo piu' famoso del mondo, solo perche' vogliono spingervi a ricomprare i manuali. Sara' che sono vecchio e disilluso, ma non c'e' niente di nuovo sotto il sole. personalmente trovo difficile scandalizzarmi per questa cosa visto che ormai la do per scontata.

@Steven Art 74 Carissimo io per ora sono solo nella campagna Waterworld Of Thalassus con una "mago evocatore umano". La campagna degli arpisti mi interessava visto che si gioca nei Forgotten relams, però non ho mai ricevuto un invito ufficiale. Ci sono PG liberi? Te lo chiedo perché non so se ce la faccio a creare anche un altro PG in questo momento. Se ne eredito uno già fatto forse potrei farcela ma devo valutare per rispetto del gruppo già formato.
