Non capisco il senso dell'ultimo paragrafo a pagina 139 del DMG riguardante le pergamene:
"Any creature that can understand a written language can read the arcane script on a scroll and attempt to activate it."

E' in contrasto con il paragrafo a pagina 200 del DMG, sempre sulle pergamene:
"If the spell is on your class's spell list, you can use an action to read the scroll and cast its spell without having to provide any of the spell's components. Otherwise, the scroll is unintelligible."

Ho letto vari forum stranieri sulla cosa.

Pare che ci siano 2 tipi di pergamene.

1. Pergamene di protezione per cui vale quanto dici nel primo paragrafo

2. Pergamene che riproducono spell di classe per cui vale quanto dici nel secondo

There's two sets of rules being discussed here - rules for scrolls in general, and rules for spell scrolls.

Scrolls - as a broad type of magic item, which so far encompasses Scrolls of Protection (page 199), and Spell Scrolls (page 200) - follow the rules on page 139:

"Any creature that can understand a written language can read the arcane script on a scroll and attempt to activate it."

That applies to all scrolls in general - if you can read, you can use items of the Scroll category, unless noted otherwise in an individual scroll's entry. So, any literate character can use a Scroll of Protection, because no additional restrictions are applied to the item's use.

Spell Scrolls are more restrictive - unless the spell on the scroll is also on your class's spell list, the scroll is unintelligible and you can't attempt to use it. If the spell on the scroll is on your spell list, but is higher level than you are able to cast, you make a Spellcasting Ability Check with a DC equal to 10+ Spell Level - failure means no spell is cast but the scroll is still 'used'.
